William D. "Bill" White, 60, of rural Apple River, IL, passed away at 3:10 P/M, Tuesday, September 2, 2014, from injuries received while cutting down a tree on the family farm.
Funeral Services will be at 10 A/M, on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, in Schapville, IL, with Pastor Barb Rapp officiating. Burial will be in Shepherd of the Hills Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 P/M to 8 P/M, on Friday, September 5, 2014, and after 9 A/M, on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, in Schapville.
The Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, of Scales Mound, IL, is in charge of arrangements.
Bill was born on March 28, 1954, in Freeport, IL, the son of Irvine H. and Mary R. (Dittmar) White. He married Karlene "Karlie" Nesbitt on July 19, 1997, in Lena, IL. He was a 1972 graduate of Warren High School.
Bill was employed at Kelly-Springfield Tire Company in Freeport for thirty-two (32) years until his retirement and also farmed the family farm.
His hobbies included the farm, baby cows, and his beloved dog, J D. He enjoyed golfing, playing bags (cornhole), and was an avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewers fan. One of his favorite sayings was - "If it's not corn or beans, it must be weeds"!
Surviving are his wife, Karlene "Karlie"; four (4) children, Kristie Edwards, of Lexington, KY, Andrew Nesbitt, of Monroe, WI, David (Melody) White, of Arlington, KY, and Krystal (Benjamin) Spencer, of Benton, KY; a son-in-law, Shane (Sarah) Edwards, of Paducah, KY; nine (9) grandchildren, Dominic, Trent, Allen, Halle, Annmarie, Leah, Zackery, Alex and Gracie; a sister, Carol (David) Lindemer, of Melbourne, FL; his father-in-law, Bud Nesbitt and friend, Dee, of Apple River, IL; and his former wife, Pam (Zipse) Inglis, of Tucson, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law, Neva Nesbitt.
A Bill White Memorial Fund has been establised for a charity or charities to be determined by the family.
