Wesley  (Wes) "Junior" Theill, 85, of East Dubuque, IL, and formerly of Menominee, IL, passed away suddenly, at 5:21 P/M, Saturday, April 19, 2014, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, JoEllen (Gary) Leibold, of rural East Dubuque, IL, surrounded by his loving wife, Ruthie, and devoted family, after a long, courageous battle with prostate and bladder cancer.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Nativity BVM Catholic Church, in Menominee, with Fr. Dan Tranel officiating.  Burial will be in Nativity BVM Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 P/M to 8 P/M, Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, where the parish wake service will be held at 2:45 P/M.

Wes was born on August 28, 1928, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Wesley and Ida (Weydert) Theill.  He married the love of his life, Ruth Carl, on July 20, 1948, at Nativity BVM Catholic Church, in Menominee, IL.

Wes loved to be with his love, Ruthie.  Farming was his passion, especially with his two sons, Allen "Bear" and Shawn, and he loved being on the tractor.  His last wish was fulfilled when he was able to do spring field work the day before his passing.  He truly loved spending time at family gatherings, his church, dancing, helping others (Mr. Fix It), watching sports played by his kids and grandkids, fishing, golfing, and traveling when he could.  Wes was very proud of his family, the simple life, and his dogs on the farm.

Wes was a member of the Nativity BVM Holy Name Society, Menominee-Dunleith Fire Department, and for 45 years sold Golden Harvest Seeds.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Ruth, of 65 years, of East Dubuque, IL; and his children, Allen "Bear" Theill (fiancee', Bernadette Myers), of Cuba City, WI, Linda Theill, of East Dubuque, IL, Sally (Steve) Hantelmann, of Maquoketa, IA, Kathy Junk, of Dubuque, IA, Jan (Mark) Mabe, of Smithville, MO, Lori (Kirk) Wills, of Galena, IL, JoEllen (Gary) Leibold, of East Dubuque, IL, Tracy (Dr. Tim) Miller, of Dubuque, IA, and Shawn (Jenni) Theill, or rural Menominee, IL; his sister and brother-in-law, Merla (Carlisle) Jacobi; his sister, Charlene Hinderman, his brother and sister-in-law, Mervin and Rosie Theill; his sister, LaVonne Heitkamp, his sisters-in-law, Marlene Self and Merla Carl; 28 Grandchidren; 25 Great-Grandchildren; 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and godchildren.

Wes was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Ida (Weydert) Theill; his son, Paul Theill; his infant daughter, Joan Marie Theill; his daughter-in-law, Susan Theill; his brothers-in-law, Frankie Hinderman, James Heitkamp, Glen, Clayton and Jerry Carl, and Robert Self; his mother-in-law, Mildred (William) Rohlmeier; and father-in-law, John Carl.

The Theill family requests no flowers.  Donations may go to a cancer charity of your choice.

The family would like to give a "special thank-you" to the Menominee Dunleith Rescue Squad and the Paramount Ambulance service for their fast response; a "thank-you" to Dr. Holmes, Dr. Dolehide, and Dr. Townsend and their staffs; a "special thanks" to Dr. Tim Miller for all his help!  God Bless!
