Vivian M. Hingtgen, 86, of Kieler, WI, passed away, peacefully, at her home on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, surrounded by her family.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Kieler, WI, with Rev. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 P/M to 8 P/M, on Friday, April 29, 2016, at the Miler Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, IL, with a parish scripture service being held at 3:45 P/M. Friends may also call from 9:15 A/M to 10:15 A/M, on Saturday, prior to the service, at the Immaculate Conception Church Parish Center, in Kieler.
Born on February 22, 1930, in Zwingle, IA, one of seven children to Leo and Sarah Elizabeth (Boyer) Pancratz. She married John Hingtgen on May 29, 1951, at St. Joseph's Prairie Church, rural Dubuque. They were married for sixty-three (63) years prior to his death on April 29, 2013.
Vivian grew up on a farm in rural Iowa and was an active member of the Washington Wonder Workers 4-H club as a child. She graduated from St. Columbkille's High School and worked several jobs prior to her most important job of wife and mother to her family. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the pandemonium surrounding all of them brought her great joy. She also loved to feed and watch her birds! She was a past member of the Fire Auxiliary and the Christian Mothers Club. The Red Hat "ladies" and their many outings brought her great joy.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Paul, of Norfolk, NE, Susan (Eldon) Tranel, of Menominee, IL, Marla (Kevin Jirak), of Tucson, AZ, Mary Hingtgen, of Dubuque, IA, Mark Hingtgen, of Norfolk, NE, Richard (Mary Kane) Hingtgen, of Kieler, WI, Dale Hingtgen, of Dubuque, IA, Lisa (Mike) Beaves, of Ankeny, IA, Alan (Susan) Hingtgen, of St. Joseph, IL, Jerry (Liz) Hingtgen, of Chandler, AZ, and Amy (Jim) Sprague, of rural Hazel Green, WI. Vivian was the grandmother to Karissa (Gabriel) Sanabria, of San Diego, CA, Arica (Juan) Gonzalez, of Mesa, AZ, Ted Hingtgen, of Kieler, WI, Anna Hingtgen, of Tucson, AZ, Molly (Derek) Nelson, of New Ulm, MN, Andy Hingtgen, of Milwaukee, WI, Nicole Tranel, of Oak Park, IL, Katie (Corey) Lenz, of Appleton, WI, Abby (Dustin) Young, of Ankeny, IA, Adam Beaves, of Des Moines, IA, Chris Hingtgen, of Del Ray Beach, FL, Roberta Hingtgen, of Champaign, IL, Ava, Ben and Maria Sprague, of rural Hazel Green, WI; great-grandchildren, Hayden Hingtgen, of Kieler, WI, Tiffany Hingtgen, of Milwaukee, WI, Kiara Sanabria, of San Diego, CA, Oliver Nelson, of New Ulm, MN, Makenna Young, of Ankeny, IA, and Connor Lenz, of Appleton, WI; she also has several step-grandchildren; a brother, LeRoy (Inez) Pancratz, of Dubuque, IA; a sister, Lillian Kies, of LaMotte, IA; and a sister-in-law, Monica Pancratz, of Dubuque, IA. There are also Korbin and Klay who are part of her neighborhood family.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her siblings and their spouses, Theresa (Clarence) Thole, Liz (Vess) Ambrosy, Charles (Dorothy) Pancratz, and Bernice (Henry) Schuster; In-laws, Karl Kies, Bernadine Ament-Geisler and Wayne Hingtgen.
The family would like to express their sincere "thanks" to Dr. Ronald Schope and his staff, and Hospice of Dubuque for their wonderful care of Vivian.
Mom always said flowers were for the living, so in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to one of her favorite charities, the Michael J. Fox Parkinsons Foundation.
