Obituary
Violet P. Stewart, 98, of Luther Manor, Dubuque, IA, formerly of East Dubuque, IL, passed away at 1:20 P/M, Sunday, January 5, 2014, at Luther Manor.
Private family visitation will be from 1 P/M to 3 P/M, on Friday, January 10, 2014, at the Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, where services will be held at 2:30 P/M, with Pastor Greg Bjornstad officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.
Mrs. Stewart was born on December 10, 1915, in Shawno, WI, the daughter of Percy & Laurina (Lund) Anker. She graduated from elementary school in Platteville, WI, and later graduated from Galena High School. Violet married Ralph M. Stewart, Sr. and he preceded her in death in 1975.
Surviving are four children, Ralph M. "Marv" (Linda) Stewart, Jr, Eugene "Whistle" (Randa) Stewart, Wayne (Lynn Ann) Stewart, all of East Dubuque, IL, and Ellen Stewart; 7 Grandchildren; 13 Great-Grandchildren; and a brother, Dallas (Joyce) Anker, of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Clinton Anker; and two sisters, Dorothy Kieffer and Delores Sproule.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque or Luther Manor.
The members of the Stewart family wish to extend their gratitude and thanks to the staff of Hospice of Dubuque and the staff at Luther Manor for the wonderful care provided to their mother.
