Viola A. Rojemann, 91, of Menominee, IL, passed away, at 4:44 P/M, Sunday afternoon, August 14, 2016, at the Galena Stauss Senior Care Community.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at the Nativity BVM Church, in Menominee, with Fr. Stephen Lundgren officiating. Burial will be in Nativity BVM Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 P/M to 8 P/M, on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, and from 9 A/M to 9:45 A/M, on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, where the St. Ann's rosary will be recited at 2:45 P/M, on Wednesday. Members of American Legion Post #787, of East Dubuque, will meet at the funeral home at 6 P/M, on Wednesday.
Viola was born on April 15, 1925, in Menominee Township, Jo Daviess County, the daughter of John and Mathilda (Tranel) Hoftender. She was united in marriage to Joseph E. Rojemann on May 29, 1946, at Nativity BVM Church, at Menominee. He preceded her in death on October 26, 1987.
Viola was a member of Nativity BVM Parish and its St. Ann's Society. She was a homemaker and formerly employed by the Sinsinawa Dominicans, Inc., until her retirement.
Viola enjoyed gardening, playing euchre, scrabble, and bingo, and especially enjoyed making chocolate chip cookies for her grandchildren. He greatest joy was spending time with family.
Surviving are her children, Gerald (Mardelle) Rojemann, Donna (Dan) Sheehan, Doris (Jim) Loeffelholz, Steve (Gayle) Rojemann, and Glenn (Lisa) Rojemann, all of Menominee, IL, and Debra (Steve) Hoppman, of Hazel Green, WI; twenty-six (26) grandchildren, Jody and Tracy Jo, Tom, Tina, Terri, Tony, Tonia, Tim, Tracy and Troy, Mike, Dave, JoAnn, Randy and Andy, Lindsey and Kelly, Jenny, Brittany, Ashley, Tyler and Brianna, and Brandon, Megan, Katelyn and Logan; thirty-one (31) great-grandchildren; two (2) sisters-in-law, Mary Hoftender, of Menominee, IL, and Eileen Rojemann Heller, of Platteville, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mathilda Hoftender; brothers, Leo (Bertha), Clarence (Evelyn), Elmer (Dorothy), and Melvin; sisters, Rosella (Al) Ricke, and Edna (Robert) Bauer; niece, Diane Hoftender; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ted and Armella Rojemann; in-laws, Justin (Marie) Rojemann, William Rojemann, and Margaret (Jack) Doyle; grandchildren, Todd and Tiffany Sheehan, in infancy; and a great-grandchild, Joseph Sheehan, in infancy.
