Veronica M. (Leifker) Wubben, 94, of Scales Mound, IL, and formerly of Menominee, IL, passed away Friday morning, March 3, 2017, at home.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, on Monday, March 6, 2017, at the Nativity BVM Catholic Church, in Menominee, with Msgr John McClean officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 P/M to 4 P/M, on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, in Scales Mound, where the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Isabella #572, will have a prayer service at 12:45 P/M, on Sunday. Visitation will also be from 9:15 A/M to 10:15 A/M, on Monday, at Nativity BVM Church, in Menominee
Veronica was born on November 19, 1922, in Vinegar Hill Township, Jo Daviess County, the daughter of George and Sophia (Timpe) Leifker. She was united in marriage to Urban Wubben on February 15, 1944. He preceded her in death on February 21, 1995.
Veronica was a member of Nativity BVM Parish, its St. Ann's Society, and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America-Court #572, of Galena, for over (73) years. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Veronica will be remembered as a kind and gentle person.
Surviving are her children, Merla (Merlin) Bussan, of Beloit, WI, Harold (Rose) Wubben, of Menominee, IL, William (Terry) Wubben, of Scales Mound, IL, Ann (Jerry) Heller, of Galena, IL, and Marjorie (Jeff) Biddick, of Eldridge, IA; twelve (12) grandchildren; sixteen (16) great-grandchildren; two (2) great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Sophia; her husband, Urban; a brother, Ray Leifker; and a great-grandaughter, Skyler Trebian.
In lieu of flowers, a Veronica M. Wubben Memorial Fund has been established.
