Thomas Joseph Friedl, 81, of Galena, IL left this world for a new adventure on November 8, 2012. He died of complications from his Parkinson's disease.

Tom was born in Waterloo, IA where he grew up. He graduated from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA. Tom worked as a creative director in advertising until he and his wife, Shirley, opened a photo art gallery, The Friedl Collection, in 1986. At this time Tom was able to pursue his love of photography.

Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Shirley; daughters, Susan, Louise, and Lisa; sons, Joe, Matt, and Andy; stepsons, Kurt, Cobi and Tor; stepdaughter, Maja; seventeen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and siblings, Monsignor Friedl, Mary, Sister Margaret, James and Rosemary.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Rosemary; siblings, Kate, Phil and Shirley; and stepchildren, Karl John and Kari.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 A/M, Saturday, November 17, 2012 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Galena, IL.
