Tate was born on January 16, 2004, at Southwest Health Center, in Platteville, WI, to Molly (Friederick) Szymkowski and David "Mike" Reinke. Tate changed the hearts and lives of everyone he has met. He enjoyed as "normal" of a life as possible. He was very much loved by his Mom and Step-dad, Matt.
Tate attended Potosi Elementary from 4K-3rd grade. "Thank you" to his buddy and cousin, Teagan Friederick, as Tate was welcomed and accepted into Potosi schools. Tate's class has been such an inspiration on how accepting and loving they have been through out the years. The kids even fought over who could push him around at recess in his wheelchair. (He had many girlfriends, Nova White and Taylor Kennedy). Tate enjoyed spending time with his class at his birthday parties or seeing them at the local football games. Tate recently moved to Lake Mills in 2013 and attended Prospect Elementary School where he attended the 4th grade. In the short time at Prospect Elementary, Tate continued to touch the lives of his friends.
Tate had a very adventurous life in his ten years on this earth. Tate has been all over the United States. He has been on different trips to Texas (to the Dallas Cowboys Stadium) and Indianapolis to visit family, a Make-A-Wish trip to Give the Kid the World Village in Florida, to Camp Courageous in Monticello, IA, and many other fantastic opportunities that most kids would never get to experience. Tate even received a medal for "running" a half marathon (while he was sleeping) in Indianapolis with his Aunt, Melissa Ross, and Cousin, Rebecca Friederick. To start the marathon Tate led 5,000+ people around the Indianapolis 500 track. Tate is so cool, he has even met many famous people. Tate will be memorialized this weekend at the first annual dance marathon at the University of Wisconsin, Platteville. So many "thanks" to ALL the different people in Tate's life that made all of these amazing opportunities possible.
He made his first Communion and his Confirmation.
Some of Tate's favorite past times were watching the Dallas Cowboys while cuddling with his Mom, hanging out with his Step-Dad, Matty, floating around in the swimming pool, listening to music and dancing, taking rides in the car, reading books, going to church, watching his favorite movies, visiting with friends and family, boating, going for walks, and taking a good nap. He loved his many nurses that came into his life. He loved them all even when he was being a stinker.
Tate was an amazing kid that opened so many doors and touched so many lives without even saying a word!
