Susan was born on July 20, 1944, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of John R. and Mary Edna (Klinkhammer) Glab. She was a graduate of Wahlert High School, the Class of 1962.
Sue was united in marriage to Walter M. Bonnet, on October 29, 1966, at St. Anthony's Church, in Dubuque. He preceded her in death on October 9, 2023.
Sue was a true artist at heart, and her wide creative talent expressed itself through many different avenues, including quilting, painting, photography, and gardening. She had a special love for animals, especially cats and dogs, and welcomed many strays over the years. She was an avid reader and loved games of all kinds, especially Bonnet Hell, a card game she helped to create. She was a loving, generous, dedicated mother, who genuinely enjoyed laughing and playing with her children and was extremely proud of the family she raised. She likewise delighted with each new grandchild who came along.
Surviving are her five children - Michelle (Philip) Cox, and children, Nathaniel, Owen, and Ellie; John (Kari) Bonnet, and children, Walter, Grant, Sam, and Lilly; Marcy (David) Martino, and children, Maggie (DJ) Hagen and Samantha; Jason (Carmi) Bonnet, and children, Jacob and Henry; and Elizabeth (Shaun) Canary, and children, Madeline and Grace; her siblings, Jean Connolly, Sally Thur, and David Glab.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edna; her husband, Wally; and siblings, Joan Beversdorf and Kay Habovsky.
