Sister Jo Wear, OP, (Flavian), 99, died at St. Dominic Villa, January 14, 2014.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, Friday, January 17th, at Queen of the Rosary Chapel, Sinsinawa, WI, followed by burial at the Motherhouse cemetery.
Friends may call after 5 P/M, Thursday, January 16th, at the Motherhouse, where a wake service and remembering service will take place at 6:30 P/M.

Sister Jo ministered 29 years in various elementery schools; 14 as an intermediate grades teacher and 15 as principal. Sister then served 4 years as a high school guidance counselor. The schools are located in Los Angeles, CA, Minneapolis, MN, Burbank, Chicago and Dixon, IL, Washington, D.C., Shorewood, WI, and Mobile, AL.
As a social worker, Sister Jo served 10 years with Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet, IL; 6 years at the African-Caribbean-American Center, Ft. Myers, FL; and 10 years at Catholic Eldercare, Minneapolis, MN, where she also ministered in pastoral care.
Sister Jo served the congregation 3 years as the coordinator of student sisters in Madison, WI, and 15 years at the Mound and Villa enriching community life.
Sister Jo was born February 19, 1914, in Omaha, NE, to Anne O'Connor and John Wear, made profession January 26, 1937.
Sister is survived by nieces, nephews, and the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters with whome she shared life for 76 years.
