Sister Jessica Slack, OP, died at St. Dominic Villa, September 30, 2021.

She was born Pauline Madelyn, May 31, 1931, to Jess and Helen (Murphy) Slack in Grand Island, NE.  She was their only child.  She is survived by her Dominican Sisters.

At her community reception, she chose the name Sister Jessica.  She earned a degree in sociology and a master's degree in social sciences. She spent 22 years teaching social science and English in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin.  She spent a year in a house of prayer.  After working as an assistant registrar, Sister Jessica went to Omaha, NE.  There she served in various capacities as support staff to St. Cecilia High School, to the Mayor of Omaha and to Missouri River Valley Presbyterian Church.  Sister Jessica came to Sinsinawa in 2014.

Services are at Sinsinawa October 11th-12th.

The Miller Funeral Home, of East Dubuque, is handling arrangements.
