Sister Maurella Schilling, OSF, 89, of Francis House, 3390 Windsor Avenue, Dubuque, IA, passed away at 1:35 P/M, on Monday, May 12, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, IA.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 P/M, on Thursday, May 15, 2014, in Francis Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque.

Visitation is from 5 P/M to 7 P/M, on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, with a Wake Service at 7 P/M, in Francis Chapel.

Sister was born on October 2, 1924, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of John and Ella (Donovan) Schilling.

Sister entered the Sisters of St. Francis on August 25, 1946, and made final profession of vows on August 10, 1952. Sister ministered as a nurse in the Iowa cities of Dubuque (Xavier Hospital, Holy Family Hall, and Stonehill Care Center) and LeMars (Sacred Heart Hospital).

Sister is survived by her nieces; nephew; and her Franciscan Sisters with whom she shared 66 years of her life.

Sister was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert; and her sister, Virginia (Robert) Stierman.

Memorials may be given to the Sisters of St. Francis, Dubuque, IA.
