Sister Sabina Ryan, OP, 89, of St. Dominic Villa, Sinsinawa, WI, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016, at St. Dominic Villa.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, on Friday, April 15, 2016, at Queen of the Rosary Chapel, Sinsinawa, WI, followed by burial in the Motherhouse Cemetery.
Friends may call after 5:15 P/M, on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at the Motherhouse, where a wake and remembrance service will be held at 6:30 P/M.
The Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, IL, is in charge of arrangements.
Sister Sabina dedicated her life to education, teaching elementary and junior high for over 41 years and serving as principal for 3 years. She served in outreach for over a year and volunteered at St. Dominic Villa for 15 years. Sister Sabina ministered in Alabama, Illinois, Colorado, Nebraska, Florida and Wisconsin.
Sister Sabina Ryan, born August 29, 1926, in Omaha, NE, to George and Nora (Cox) Ryan, made her profession August 5, 1953.
She is survived by four (4) sisters, Sister Nora Ryan, OP, Imelda McMillin, Mary Rehan and Virginia Garner; three (3) brothers, John Ryan, the Rev. James Ryan, SJ, and George Ryan; nieces; nephews; and her Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters, with whom she shared life for 62 years.
