Sister Barbara (Rosellen) Sheehy, O.P. died November 28, 2022, at St. Dominic Villa, Sinsinawa, WI.

Funeral Services will be December 5 at 6:30 P/M and at 10:30 A/M, December 6, at Sinsinawa.

Miller Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Barbara was born, July 25, 1931, to Richard and Rose (Fitzsimmons) in Chicago. She was the youngest of three children. She is survived by nieces; nephews; her good friend, Sister Maureen Croak OP; and her Dominican family.

From 1952 until 1962, Sister Barbara taught elementary school in Washington, D.C.; Minnesota; and Wisconsin. She then spent the next 31 years in secondary education as teacher, principal, co-principal, and assistant superintendent in Anaconda, Montana; Faribault Minnesota; Burbank, Illinois; and Boston, Massachusetts. After a sabbatical in 1993, Sister Barbara and Sister Maureen became co-directors of STEPS, a workplace education program for five hospitals in the Milwaukee area. In 2013, Sister Barbara retired, active in the area until her death last week. Barb was known as a superb teacher, a well respected colleague, thoroughly kind and a beloved friend and sister in the Sinsinawa congregation.
