Sister Regine Pawelski, OP, died April 26, 2024, at St. Dominic Villa, Hazel Green, Wis. Her remembering service and funeral Mass will be held at St. Dominic Villa Monday, May 6, 2024, at 10:30 a.m.

Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, is handling arrangements.

Sister Regine was born May 18, 1933, to Lawrence and Antoinette (Kwasnik) Pawelski in Knowlton, Wis. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy, Stevens Point, Wis. Sister Regine received her RN from the St. Joseph School of Nursing, Marshfield, Wis., in 1959 and began working as a staff nurse at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison, Wis. She made profession with the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa in 1962 and received a BS in religious studies from Edgewood College, Madison, in 1983.

Sister Regine's ministry was dedicated to nursing. She served as RN at St. Dominic Villa, Dubuque, Iowa. In Wisconsin, she served as director of the health center for 11 years and as RN for 24 years at the Dominican Motherhouse, Sinsinawa. She also ministered at St. Luke Hospital, Milwaukee, and provided family care in Mosinee.

Sister Regine was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Felix and Theodore Pawelski. She is survived by a sister, Catherine Pawelski; nieces and nephews; and her Dominican Sisters.
