Sister Stella Marie Swakoski, BVM (Lidwina), 94, of Marian Hall, 1050 Carmel Drive, Dubuque, IA, passed away at 2:30 P/M, Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Marian Hall.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 P/M, on Friday, October 10, 2014, at Marian Hall Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 A/M - 11 A/M, on Friday, at Marian Hall Chapel, with a prayer service at 11 A/M.

Sister Stella Marie was born on October 10, 1919, at Butte, MT, the daughter of John and Anna Marie (Heaney) Swakoski.

Sister Stella Marie was on the faculty of Clarke University, Dubuque; and was an elementary school educator and administrator at St. Anthony's, Dubuque; Des Moines and Council Bluffs, IA; San Jose, CA; and Butte and Missoula, MT. She ministered as a secondary school counselor in Anaheim, CA.

She is survived by the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with whom she shared life for 76 years; and nieces and nephews.
