Sister Anne Marie Friedrich, OP, died January 6, 2022, at St. Dominic Villa, Hazel Green, WI.

She was born to Adam and Catherine (Connor) Friedrich on September 1, 1932, in Chicago, IL.  She was the oldest of three daughters.  Sister Anne Marie is survived by her sister, Joan Bulfin; nieces; nephews; and extended family; and her beloved Dominican family.

Sister Anne Marie spent from 1952 to 1980 in elementary schools in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois.  She taught middle grades and later was principal.  She was an organized, warm, kind and funny human being.  Sister Anne Marie then took a sabbatical in 1981. She and Dr. Marilyn Aiello, OP, moved to Marks, MS, to establish DePorres Health Center.  Sister Anne Marie was key to running the operational side of the clinic.  She promoted and welcomed full-time volunteers, Catholic Sisters, medical personnel and many others who sought a faith-filled community.  She lived in Mississippi until 2007.

Services will be held at Sinsinawa January 10th-11th.

The Miller Funeral Home, of East Dubuque, is handling arrangements.
