Sister Mary Lou Larkin, BVM (Mark), 84, of Marian Hall, 1050 Carmel Drive, Dubuque, IA, passed away at 7:05 A/M, Friday, August 29, 2014, at Marian Hall.
Visitation will be from 10 A/M to 11 A/M, Thursday, September 4, 2014, with a prayer service at 11 A/M at Marian Hall Chapel, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 P/M. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Sister was born on September 18, 1929, in Omaha, NE, the daughter of Mark Aloysius and Henrietta (Ketchmark) Larkin. She made her first profession of vows on March 19, 1950, and her final profession on August 15, 1955.
Sister Mary Lou was an elementery teacher and superior/principal in Oak Park and Chicago, IL; and Montrose, Santa Ana and Los Angeles, CA. She served in parish ministry and as a director of religious education in Shiller Park, Mount Prospect and Chicago, IL.
She is survived by the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with whom she shared life for (67) years; a brother, Mark (Shirley) Larkin, of Scottsdale, AZ; nieces and nephews.
