Sister Rosula Holzmann, OP, died Saturday, March 29, 2014, at St. Dominic Villa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, Friday, April 4, 2014, at Queen of Rosary Chapel, Sinsinawa, WI, followed by burial in the Motherhouse Cemetery.
Friends may call after 5 P/M, Thursday, April 3, 2014, at the Motherhouse, where a wake and remembering service will take place at 6:30 P/M.
The Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, IL, is in charge of arrangements.
Sister Rosula specialized in the education of children in the primary grades. For 48 years, she taught grades first and second in Faribault, MN, Chicago, IL, Alhambra, CA, Baraboo, WI, Kingfisher and Tulsa, OK. Sister Rosula served 11 years assisting primary teachers as a tutor and volunteer in Chicago, IL, and Washington, DC. For more than 25 years, Sister Rosula, in a variety of ways, enabled young girls to enjoy their summer experience at Camp WeHaKee, Winter, WI. Sister Rosula enriched community life at both the Convent of the Paraclete, Whitefish Bay, WI, and at St. Dominic Villa.
Sister Rosula, born September 15, 1918, in Calvary, daughter of Rosa Dietzen and Henry Holzmann, made her profession of vows on August 6, 1940.
She is survived by nieces, nephews, and the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters with whom she shared life for 73 years.
