Sister Henrice Billion, OP, 96, died June 15, 2013, at St. Dominic Villa, Sinsinawa, WI.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Queen of Rosary Chapel, Sinsinawa, WI, followed by burial in the Motherhouse Cemetery. Friends may call after 5:15 P/M, Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at the Motherhouse, where there will be a wake and remembering service at 6:30 P/M.
Sister Henrice was born November 10, 1916, in Sioux Falls, SD, to Coralie VanderGoore and Alphonse Billion, and made her profession March 8, 1937. She is survived by nieces, nephews and the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters with whom she shared life for 76 years.
Sister Henrice was an elementary school educator. She taught 35 years, served as principal 17 years, was school librarian four years and substituted three years. Sister then volunteered and enriched community life until her death. She ministered in Illinois, South Dakota, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, and California.
The Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, IL, is in charge of arrangements.
