Sister Mary Francile Luking, BVM, 92, of Caritas Center, 1130 Carmel Drive, Dubuque, IA, passed away at 12:14 P/M, Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Caritas Center.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 P/M, Friday, May 9, 2014, at Marian Hall Chapel.
Friends may call from 9 A/M to 11 A/M, Friday, May 9, 2014, at the chapel, where there will be a prayer service at 11 A/M.
The Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, IL, is in charge of arrangements.
Sister Mary Francile was an elementary and secondary school teacher and principal in Memphis, TN; Rock Island and Mundelein, IL; Davenport, Iowa City, and Cedar Rapids, IA; Kansas City, MO; and Jackson, MS. She also volunteered in Jonestown, MS.
She was born on June 9, 1921, in Casper, WY, daughter of Francis Joseph and Elizabeth (Schulz) Luking.
She mad her first profession of vows on March 19, 1942, and her final profession on August 15, 1947.
Surviving are a sister, Anne Luking, of Louisville, KY; nieces and nephews; and Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with whom she shared life for 74 years.
