Sister Ricarda Eich, OSF, 99, of Clare House, Dubuque, died at 1:23 A/M, Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at Clare House.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 4, 2012, at 1:00 P/M in Francis Chapel with burial in Mt Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is 4:00 P/M to 7:00 P/M on Friday, August 3, 2012 with a Wake Service at 7:00 P/M in Francis Chapel.

Sister was born on September 13, 1912, in Halbur, IA, the daughter of Charles and Anna Eich. Sister entered the Sisters of St Francis on January 27, 1932, and made her final profession of vows on August 12, 1937. Sister ministered in the Iowa cities of Ossian, Stacyville, Sioux City (St Michael), Waterloo (St Mary's), Dubuque (Immaculate Conception Convent), Midlothian, IL, and Portland (All Saints) Oregon.

Sister is survived by her sisters: Sally Schenkelberg, Catherine Loughran, and Mildred Sporrer; nieces, nephews, and her Franciscan sisters with whom she shared 79 years of her life.

Sister was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers: Alvin (Marie) Raymond (Thelma) and Herbert; her sisters: Anna, Loretta, Lucy (Leo) Irlmeier, Evelyn (Adolph) Langel, and Helen (George) Eischeid; and her brothers-in-law: Jerome Schenkelberg, Jack Loughran, and Lawrence Sporrer.

Memorials may be given to the Sisters of St Francis, Dubuque, IA.
