Sister Juliana Amenda, OP, 94, passed away October 10, 2016, at St. Dominic Villa.

The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, October 14, 2016, at the Gathering Place Chapel, Sinsinawa, WI, followed by burial in the Motherhouse cemetery.

Friends may call after 5:15 P/M, on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at the Motherhouse where a wake and remembering service will be held at 6:30 P/M.

The Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, IL, is in charge of arrangements.

Sister Juliana taught three years at St. Thomas More, Chicago, IL; five years at Blessed Sacrament, Madison, WI; and one year each at St. Thomas Aquinas, Freeport, IL, and Bethlehem Academy, Faribault, MN.  She served nineteen years as a physical therapist at St. Dominic Villa, Dubuque, IA, and in Wisconsin for eight years at Curative Workshop, of Racine; two years at Lancaster Memorial Hospital, Lancaster, WI; three years at Stoughton Hospital, Stoughton, WI; and three years at Phoenix-Hudson Corporation, Madison, WI.  Innumerable patients profited by her professional expertise and tough love.  Sister Juliana enriched community life wherever she lived.

Sister Juliana, born September 30, 1922, in Darlington, WI, to Henry and Julia (McManus) Amenda, made her profession August 5, 1954.  She is survived by nieces, nephews, and the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa with whom she shared life for sixty-two years.
