Shirley A. (Wiederholt) Ricke, 79, of Menominee, IL, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, in Iowa City, IA.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 A/M, on Friday, May 19, 2017, at Nativity BVM Catholic Church, in Menominee, with Fr. Dean Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Nativity BVM Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 P/M to 8 P/M, on Thursday, May 18, 2017, and from 9:15 A/M to 10:15 A/M, on Friday, May 19, 2017, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, where the parish rosary will be Thursday at 3:30 P/M.

Shirley was born on November 17, 1937, to Mike and Alice (Pluym) Wiederholt on their families home farm, near Hazel Green, WI. She was a graduate of St. Clara Academy, Sinsinawa, WI. Shirley was united in marriage to Leonard H. Ricke on September 25, 1956. They felt blessed to have celebrated sixty (60) years of marriage in the fall of 2016. Together they had six (6) children, so Shirley kept busy as a homemaker and in her younger years liked to cook and bake.

Shirley was an avid card player, especially euchre and poker. She also enjoyed gambling, watching the Cubs and visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Each year she looked forward to working the family apple booth at the Galena Country Fair.

Surviving are her husband, Leonard; children, Linda Kern, of Woodland Park, CO, Dan (Laura) Ricke, Ron Ricke, Darryl (Janet) Ricke, all of Menominee, IL, Mark Fluhr, of East Dubuque, IL, and Dennis (Roseanne) Ricke, of Lisbon, IA; her grandchildren, Josh (Stacy) Kern, Mandy (Dennis) McWilliams, Scottie Murphy, Jason Ricke, Jessica (Nate) Lange, Cory Ricke, Cali Ricke, Megan (Todd) Placke, Michael Ricke, Sam Fluhr, Austin Fluhr, Nathan, Christopher and Adalyn Ricke; her great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Jase McWilliams, Camdyn Placke and Gavin Lange; siblings, Donald (Anna Mae) Wiederholt, Ardelle "Toots" Leibold, Kenny (Doris) Wiederholt, Phyllis (Everett) Runde, Judy (Carl) Timmerman; and in-laws, Eunice (Karl) Burroughs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Carol Ann Fluhr, on May 6, 2013; her in-laws, Victor and Mary Ricke; her siblings, Eileen "Beaner" Wiederholt, Donna (Bob) Tippett; brother-in-law, Pete Leibold; nephews, Randy Wiederholt and Dale Wiederholt; and niece, Kristine Timmerman.

The family wishes to "thank" the doctors, nurses and staff at the University of Iowa Hospital for the excellent care given to Shirley in her final days.
