Sharon A. (Bonnet) Snyder, 68, of East Dubuque, IL, and formerly of Galena, IL, passed away at 2:45 P/M, on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at home, surrounded by her family.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at St. Mary's Church, in East Dubuque. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 P/M to 8 P/M, on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, where the parish scripture service will be at 3:30 P/M, on Wednesday. There will also be a visitation on Thursday morning from 9:15 A/M to 10:15 A/M, at St. Mary's Church.
Sharon was born on October 29, 1949, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Ralph H. and Dolores "Dee" (Maus) Bonnet. She was a graduate of East Dubuque High School, Class of 1967, and received her Bachelor of Arts and Master's Degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
She taught different elementery grades for (34) years, but primarily was a 6th grade teacher, and loved every minute doing so. She retired from the Galena Middle School in 2014.
Sharon enjoyed reading, cooking and gardening. But most of all, she loved time spent with her grandkids. She was a former member of St. Michael's Church, in Galena, and its guitar choir.
Surviving are four (4) children, Brad (Rina) Snyder, of Warwick, RI, Dr. Michael (Kathy) Snyder, M.D., of St. Louis, MO, Amanda (Michael McDonald) Lee, of North Liberty, IA, and Matthew (Lindsay) Snyder, of Stoughton, WI; twelve (12) grandchildren, Ethan, Nina, David, Bibiana, Gaby, Lilly, Teddy, Ava, Nya, Ryan, Gavin and Luke; her sister, Pat Bonnet, of East Dubuque, IL; her aunt, Leona "Pete" Ginter, of Kieler, WI; an uncle, Wesley Hoots, of Rock Island, IL; and numerous cousins and friends.
A special "thank you" to Hospice of Dubuque, and the Carbone Cancer Center, at U. W. Hospital, Madison, WI, for the excellent care provided to our Mother!
In lieu of flowers, a Sharon A. Snyder Memorial Fund has been established.
