Ronald G. "Ron" Moser, 79, of Galena, IL, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013, at home.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 A/M, Thursday, December 19, 2013, at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, Galena, with Rev. Stacy Cavanaugh, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Galena.
Friends may call from 3 P/M to 7 P/M, Wednesday, December 18th, at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, Galena.
Ron was born on February 3, 1934, in Galena, the son of Fred and Helen (Maxwell) Moser. He married Doris E. Hammill on August 15, 1953, at Benton, WI. She preceded him in death on September 22, 1997.
Ron was a graduate of Galena High School, Class of 1952, and was formerly employed at John Deere Dubuque Tractor Works, retiring in 1992.. Ron was a 50+ year member of the Galena Volunteer Fire Department, where he was a past fire chief, a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church, a former member of the Moose Club of Galena, and a member of the UAW, Local #94.
Surviving are two children, Michael (Khris) Moser, of Menominee, IL, and Jennifer (Andrew J.) Soat, of Galena, IL; two grandsons,
Gage & Evan Soat; a sister, Phyllis Kiefer, of Boise, ID; a brother, Dan (Helen) Moser, of Fruitland, OR; nieces, nephews and cousins; his special friend, Marilyn Holland, of Galena, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred & Helen Moser; a daughter, Lynn; three sisters, Louise Davis, Helen "Dode" Herrick, and Mary Carol Moser; three brothers, Fred, Max, and David Moser.
