Ronald I. "Ron" Moore, 74, of East Dubuque, IL,  passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2017, at home, following a battle with many health issues, including cancer and heart failure.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 A/M, on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at Hope Evangelical Free Church, 11893 John F. Kennedy Road, Dubuque, IA, with Pastor Matt Collins officiating.  Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 P/M to 7 P/M, on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, and from 9:30 A/M to 10:15 A/M, on Thursday, at the church.

Ron was born on February 9, 1942, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Kenneth and Helen (Breese) Moore.  He was united in marriage to Diana Robertson, on November 21, 1959, in Dubuque, IA.

He was employed at the John Deere Dubuque Works for thirty-three (33) years, retiring in 2001.  Ron was a member of U.A.W. Local #94.

Ron loved gardening and working in his yard, especially riding around on his John Deere.  He also enjoyed woodworking in his garage, building many beautiful pieces for his family and friends.  One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandkids and he was an avid bird watcher.  He loved his motorcycle, camping, always enjoyed cars, working on them and going to car shows with his friends and always loved playing a game of euchre with his friends.

Surviving are his wife, Diana; two (2) children, Steve Moore and Tracy Moore, both of East Dubuque, IL; his grandchildren, Ashley (Christopher) Moore-Smith, Adam Schwartz and Riley Kammermude; his sister, Melody (Bruce) Miehe, of Oregon; and a brother, Kenny (Darlene) Moore, of Galena, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jason Moore; and a sister, Patty (Moore) Schuster.

Diana and family wish to "thank" all family and friends as well as all the staff at UW Hospital, in Madison, WI, the Menominee-Dunleith Fire Department and the East Dubuque Area Ambulance for their kindness to Ron and his family.
