Roger E. "Payday" Jentz, Sr, 73, of Potosi, WI, passed into eternal life on Monday, September 2, 2013, very peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at UnityPoint-Finley Hospital, Dubuque, IA.
A celebration of life service will be from 2 P/M to 4 P/M, Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Ss. Andrew-Thomas School, Potosi, WI. There will be a private family burial at a later date in Van Buren Cemetery. The Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, IL, is assisting the family.
Roger was born on March 4, 1940, in Platteville, WI, the son of Clarence and Daisy (Mohlmann) Jentz. He was united in marriage to Judy Bell on September 12, 1959, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, in Dubuque, IA.
Surviving are his wife, Judy; three children, Michelle "Shelley" Doser and Roger Jentz, Jr, both of Potosi, WI, and Carrie Pluemer, of Cedar Rapids, IA; six grandchildren, Kylie Doser, of Platteville, WI, Taylor Doser, Brandon Jentz, Dylan, Trevor, and Katie Pluemer, all of Potosi, WI; his siblings, John "Jack" (Patty) Fortney, of Big Patch, WI, Kenny (Pat) Jentz, of Dickeyville, WI, Helene (Jack) Bennett, of Surprise, AZ, Darlene Chapman, of Coralville, IA, and Donna (Sonny) Weires, of Dubuque, IA.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; two brothers, Clarence and Ronnie; his mother-in-law, Edna Reynolds; two brothers-in-law, Gary Chapman and Larry Reynolds; and two sisters-in-law, Donna Fortney and Donna Reynolds.
The family requests no flowers or plants. A Roger E. Jentz, Sr. Memorial Fund has been established.
Judy and family wish to give "special thanks" to Dr. John Whalen and his staff, Tri-State Dialysis, in Platteville, WI, Orchard Manor, in Lancaster, WI, and Manor Care, in Platteville, WI, for their wonderful care for the past several years, and to Wendy Scholbrock for many years of friendship and all of the help she has given our family since Roger's illness.
