Robert C. "Bob" Wirzbach, 93, of Stonehill Care Center, Dubuque, IA, and formerly of 790 Lawther Street, Dubuque, passed away at 11:30 P/M, Friday, March 8, 2013, at Stonehill Care Center.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 A/M, Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, IL, with Deacon Jim Thill officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque, where military honors will be accorded by members of American Legion Post #6 of Dubuque.

Friends may call from 3 P/M to 7 P/M, Monday, March 11, 2013, at the Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, IL, where a prayer service will be held at 3:30 P/M.

Bob was born on February 21, 1920, in Dubuque, the son of Herman and Amelia (Batteram) Wirzbach.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during World War #2 on the USS New Jersey in the South Pacific as a "plank owner".

He married Mildred "Millie" Nauman on June 10, 1946, at Ss. Peter & Paul Church in Sherrill, Iowa. She preceded him in death on July 4, 2008.

Bob was an electrician retiring in 1985, and was formerly employed by United Electric Company and Westphal Electric Company. He was also on the electrical crews that built John Deere Dubuque Works and Apple River Chemical Company in rural East Dubuque. He was a member of I.B.E.W. Local #704, receiving his 65 years of service pin in 2011, the Local #704 retirees, American Legion Post #6 of Dubuque, and a former member of the 62+ Club.

Surviving are his six children, Janet (Tom) Noel, Susan (R. J.) Miller, Robert K.(Jeanette) Wirzbach, Karen (Don) Curler, all of Dubuque, IA, Jean Wirzbach & (Sandy McCormick), of Columbia Heights, MN, and Thomas (Angela) Wirzbach, of Dubuque, IA; 17 Grandchildren, Tara (Andrew) Trifone & Travis Noel, both of Dubuque, IA, Tyler Noel, of Austin, TX, Rachel Miller, of Madison, WI, Scott Miller (fiancee, Sara Saboe), of Columbia Heights, MN, Karla (Chuck) Reichenbach, of Gillette, WY, Dianna (Jeff) Hanson, of Racine, WI, Michael Wirzbach & (Jim Bemboom), of Dubuque, IA, Julia (Pete) Kenyon, of Davenport, IA, Alicia (Jay) Kirton, of LaMotte, IA, Brian Curler (fiancee, Kristina Blake), of Andrew, IA, Eric Curler, of Dubuque, IA, Alexandra & Benjamin Wirzbach, of Dubuque, IA, Nick Johnson, Zachary & Amber Freund, all of Dubuque, IA; 14 Great-Grandchildren, Logan & Adeline Trifone, of Dubuque, IA, Faith, Elias, Ezra & Seth Reichenbach, of Gillette, WY, Peter, Eliana & Sophia Hanson, of Racine, WI, Isaac Penzol, Reese & Calvin Kenyon, of Davenport, IA, Alexis Curler & Dylan Kirton, of LaMotte, IA; a brother, Karl (Chizz) Wirzbach, and a sister, Doris O'Brien, both of Dubuque, IA; his in-laws, Gregory Nauman, Eileen Nauman, both of Dubuque, IA, Norbert Nauman, of Franklenton, LA, John (Ann) Nauman, of St. Donatus, IA, Herman (Marge) Nauman, of East Dubuque, IL, LaVonne Hoffman, of Dubuque, IA, Germaine Freiburger, of Des Moines, IA, Teresa Kroll, of Lake Zurich, IL, Agnes (Bob) O'Neill, of Janesville, WI, Adele Peters, of Dubuque, IA, and Margaret "Dolly" (Ken) Ziegenfuss, of Delhi, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law, Herman J. and Mary S. (Jungblut) Nauman; In-laws, Marian Bales, Sister Elenore Nauman, Clara Spoden, Lucille Beau, Eldon Nauman, Helen & Leora Nauman, Lois & Bonnie Wirzbach, Gene Kroll, Bob Hoffman, Loras Freiburger, George Peters, and Henry Nauman.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be given to Stonehill Care Center and Hospice of Dubuque.
