Obituary

Robert L. (Bob) Tippett, 71, of rural Hazel Green, WI, died at 11:01 P/M, Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, IA, with his family by his side.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, Monday, January 21, 2013 at St. Joseph's Church, Sinsinawa, WI, with Rev. Donald Lange officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 P/M to 7 P/M, Sunday, January 20, 2013 and after 9 A/M, Monday, January 21, 2013 at the Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, IL, where the parish scripture service will be at 1:45 P/M Sunday.

Bob was born on December 21, 1941, in Galena, IL, the son of Robert J and Marita E (Staver) Tippett. He married Donna M. Wiederholt on April 24, 1965 at St. Joseph's Church, Sinsinawa. She preceded him in death on November 23, 2005. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Vietnam War.

Bob farmed most of his life, retiring in approximately 2006. He enjoyed fishing and the Friday card games. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, the Wisconsin Badgers and NASCAR racing. Bob looked forward to his evening dinners and socializing with his friend, Bob Wiegman, and his friends at Daniel's Lounge. A very important part of Bob's life was time spent with family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are his children; Bryan (Linda Miller) Tippett and Rhonda (Tom) Jochum, both of Hazel Green, WI; his three grandchildren, Garrett, Grant and Gavin; his siblings, Joan Lee, Francis (Jayne) Tippett, and LaVerne (Elaine) Tippett, all of Belmont, WI, John Tippett, of Rewey, WI, Mary (Tom) Cooper, of Dubuque, IA, Margaret (Marc) Bonin, of Platteville, WI, Dolores (Jim) Young, of LaCrosse, WI, and Bernadine Young, of New Orleans, LA; his in-laws, Ardelle "Toots" Leibold and Shirley (Leonard) Ricke, both of East Dubuque, IL, Phyllis (Everett) Runde, of Platteville, WI, Judy (Carl) Timmerman, Donald (Anna Mae) Wiederholt and Kenny (Doris) Wiederholt, all of Hazel Green, WI; and a very special person whom Bob thought of like a son, Terry Thumser.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna; one brother, Charlie Tippett; one sister, Lucille Alt; sister-in-law, Eileen "Beaner" Wiederholt; niece, Kristine Timmerman; and nephew, Randy Wiederholt.

In lieu of flowers, a Robert L. "Bob" Tippett Memorial Fund has been established.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Mercy Medical Center Cardiovascular and ICU Units, Dr. Mark Janes, and Dr. Mark Moore for the excellent care given to their father, Bob.
