Robert J. "Bob" Moyer, 52, of Galena, IL, passed away at 2 A/M, on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, in Des Moines, IA, following a series of strokes.

A Celebration of his Life will be from 12 Noon to 3 P/M, on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at the Galena Eagles Club, 237 S. Main Street, in Galena.

Bob was born on November 15, 1963, in Galena, the son of Art and Fern (Laity) Moyer.

He was formerly employed at Prism Construction and served in the U. S. Army from 1981 - 1985, in Korea. He married Kathy Peel on February 14, 1995. Bob loved working with computers and science fiction.

Surviving are his mother, Fern Moyer, of Galena, IL; four (4) siblings, Lorie Moyer, of Davenport, IA, Rodney Moyer, of Galena, IL, Thomas Moyer, of San Francisco, CA, and Wayne "Arty" (Laura) Moyer, of Galena, IL; a niece, Abby Moyer, and a nephew, Ben Moyer, both of Galena, IL; several aunts and uncles including a special uncle and aunt, Jim Laity, of Scales Mound, IL, and Gladys Nath, of Galena, IL; and friend and former wife, Kathy Moyer, of Dubuque, IA.

A Robert "Bob" Moyer Memorial Fund has been established.

The family wishes to give "special thanks" to the Galena EMT's, the staff at Midwest Medical Center and the Galena Police Department for their quick response and assistance.
