Robert H. "Bob" Johnson, Sr, 63, of East Dubuque, IL, passed away at 10:58 A/M, on Monday, January 30, 2017, at home.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 A/M, on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at the First Presbyterian Church, in Galena, IL, with Rev. Jim McCrea officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by members of the Dubuque Marine Corps League.
Visitation will be from 4 P/M to 8 P/M, on Friday, February 3, 2017, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, where members of the Miner's Masonic Lodge #273 A.F. & A.M. will conduct services at 7 P/M, on Friday.
Bob was born on October 12, 1953, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Percy and Jean (Selle) Johnson.
He was a self-employed carpenter, a member of the Miner's Lodge#273 A.F. and A.M., of Galena, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in Vietnam. Bob loved traveling, car cruising in his "55" Chevy Nomad and time spent with family.
Surviving are his sweetheart, Cheryl Katka; five (5) children, Robert (Summer) Johnson, Jr, of Galena, IL, Kelly (Trevor Trace) Johnson, of Dodgeville, WI, Melissa (Erick) Plamann, of Elizabethtown, KY, Shannon Katka, of East Dubuque, IL, and Chad Katka, of Phoenix, AZ; three (3) grandchildren, Samantha Jean Johnson, Edwin Chance Heare and Taryn Bailey Plamann; his mother, Jean Johnson, of Dubuque, IA; his siblings, Larry Johnson, of East Dubuque, IL, Karen Johnson, of LaCrosse, WI, Barbara Painter, of Dubuque, IA, Nancy Lee Brady, of Galesville, WI, Janet Fisher, of Alliance, NE, Barbara McKinney, of Prescott, WI, Jeannette Sage, of Onalaska, WI, and Gene Johnson, of Dubuque, IA.
He was preceded in death by his father, Percy; and a brother, Jack Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, a Robert H. Johnson, Sr. Memorial Fund has been established.
