Richard D. Kintzle, 90, of East Dubuque, IL, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Mercy One Dubuque Medical Center, following a sudden illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at St. Mary's Church, in East Dubuque. Burial will follow in the East Dubuque Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, where the Parish Scripture Service will be at 3:30 p.m., on Monday.
Dick was born on September 25, 1934, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Mary (Kintzle) Lesser. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in Germany. On February 10, 1962, he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Tranel, at St. Mary's Church, in East Dubuque.
He was employed by John Deere Dubuque Works in the foundry until his retirement. A member of UAW Local # 94, retired member of the East Dubuque Volunteer Fire Dept., a member of St. Mary's Parish, a former little league coach, avid bowler, and Chicago Cubs fan. Dick enjoyed woodworking and golfing.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane; four children, Jeff (Cheri) Kintzle, Sherry (Doug) Manders, and Kris (Steve) Boenish, all of Dubuque, IA, and Matt (Cheryl) Kintzle, of Pace, FL; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Mary (Matt) Lesser; and brother, Leonard Kintzle.
