Richard J. "Cookie" Hoell, Jr, 55, of Dubuque, IA, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019, at home.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 A/M, on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Holy Ghost Church, in Dubuque.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Galena, IL.  There will be no public visitation.

The Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, is serving the family.

Richard was born on October 7, 1963, in Dubuque, the son of Richard J. and Joan (Knobbe) Hoell, Sr.

Surviving are two children, Kali Hoell and Trevor Hoell, both of Galena, IL; his mother, Joan Schroeder, of Dubuque, IA; and two sisters, Laura (Glenn) Anderson, of Las Vegas, NV, and Deborah Smith, of Burlington, NC.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, John & Eleanor Hoell, and Harry & Viola Knobbe; and step-father, Richard Schroeder, Sr.
