Ralph B. Rutan, age 89, of Dubuque, IA,  passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Harmony of Dubuque.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A/M, Friday, November 10, 2023, at the Miller Funeral Home in East Dubuque. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens, where military honors will be accorded by members of Dubuque Post # 6 -  American Legion.

Family and friends may call after 10 A/M, Friday, at the funeral home.

Ralph was born on April 22, 1934, in Detroit, MI, the son of Charles A. and Violet (Moore) Rutan.

Ralph was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was formerly employed at the Dubuque Packing Company. Ralph was a member of Dubuque Post # 6 – American Legion, and a former member of the East Dubuque Lions Club. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and pool.

Surviving are his children, Sharon Kopec, of Blackwood, NJ, and Rachel Cunningham, of East Dubuque, IL; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his siblings, Frances Costas, of Wilton, IA, Charlotte Hillary, of Hazel Green, WI, Louise Maus of Dubuque, IA, Juanita Faulkner, of Piedmont, MO, and Norman Rutan of Anamosa, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Violet; siblings, Cecil Rutan, Florine V. Holm and Violet Davis Whitney; and a granddaughter, Vanessa E. Sauser.
