Obituary

Patricia L. "Pat" Berry, 92, of Dubuque, IA, passed away at 2:30 P/M, on Sunday, January 10, 2016, at home, surrounded by her family

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 A/M, on Friday, January 15, 2016, at St. Raphael's Cathedral, in Dubuque, with Msgr. Thomas Toale officiating. Entombment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque.

Visitation will be from 4 P/M to 7 P/M, on Thursday, January 14, 2016, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, where the Parish Scripture Service will be at 4 P/M, Thursday. Visitation will continue from 9 A/M to 9:45 A/M, on Friday, at the Church.

Pat was born on July 10, 1923, at Ft. Dodge, IA, the daughter of Mark and Florence (Darling) Taylor. She was united in marriage to Thomas R. "Tom" Berry, on May 26, 1956, at Corpus Christi Church in Ft. Dodge. Tom preceded her in death on December 11, 2004.

Pat was a homemaker and previously worked for the Navy Ordinance Department in Washington, D.C. during World War II and later was Deputy County Recorder for Webster County, IA. She and Tom moved to Dubuque in 1962 where they were members of St. Raphael's Parish and former members of the Dubuque Golf and Country Club.

Surviving are four (4) daughters, Julia (Steve) Seymour, of McKinney, TX, Nancy L. Berry, of Dubuque, IA, Elizabeth Wells, of Wylie, TX, and Ann (Jim) Mauss, of St. Catherine, IA; one (1) son, Thomas R. (Cheryl) Berry, of Davenport, IA; six (6) grandchildren, Thomas IV and Taylor Berry, Katie Seymour, Parker Wells and Jack and Joshua Mauss; her sister, Sarah Rolow, of West Des Moines, IA; and her brother, Mark Taylor, of Des Moines, IA; special friends, Charlie and Ruth Ellis; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom; a brother-in-law, William Rolow; and a sister-in-law, Charleen Taylor.

Pat's family wishes to give "special thanks" to Dr. Mark Liaboe and his nurse, Trish, the staff at Finley Hospital, Lynn and Linda from Home Instead Senior Care, and nurses Carol, Jenny and Hospice of Dubuque, especially Betsy, for the wonderful care given to their mother.
