Patric J. Marty, 77, of rural Hazel Green, WI, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Luther Manor-Dubuque.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 – 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at the Miller Funeral Home in East Dubuque.

Pat was born on March 13, 1947, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Merlin "Mickey" and Dorothy (Keller) Marty. He was the 3rd child of nine siblings. He attended Nativity grade school and Wahlert High School. Pat maintained enduring friendships from as far back as his grade school years.

In 1979, he married the love of his life, Lynne Peacock of East Dubuque. In their blended family, there were 11 children.

In 1987, Pat and Lynne founded Marty's Fireworks of Hazel Green, WI and it is still a thriving family business to this day.

Pat loved physical fitness. He was a member of the Dubuque Y for 40 years.

Pat had the heart of a lion. He could do anything he set his mind to. He had the courage and strength to do whatever he wanted. He even helped deliver his children.

Pat will be remembered for being the most charismatic person in any room he entered.

We will miss his voice, his humor, his protection, his words of love and advice, his presence in our lives and his big strong arms hugging each and every one of us so tight, just when we needed it the most.

Surviving is his wife, Lynne; 10-children, Michael (Fran) Gorham, John Marty, Tom (Kim) Marty, Ted (Robyn) Oberhauser, Shirley (Lee) Klosterman, Nevada (Sara) Marty, Beth (Cory Glover) Marty, Mickey (Kaytee) Marty, Dori (Josh Jansen) Marty, James Marty; son-in-law, Andy McGovern; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; his 8 siblings, Mike (Cecilia) Marty, Jerry (Peggy) Marty, Barbara Stevenson, Daniel (Phyllis) Marty, Mary Kay (Van) Adkisson, Dave (Deb) Marty, Jeff (Starr) Marty, Kara (Dave) Adams; and his mother-in-law, Shirley Peacock; sister-in-law, Diana Peacock; brothers-in-law, James and Michael Peacock; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mickey and Dorothy; a daughter, Lora McGovern; brother-in-law, Jack Stevenson; and father-in-law, Jim Peacock.

Pat's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Luther Manor, and Hospice of Dubuque for the special care given to Pat and his family.
