Pamela K. Sample, 58, of Anchorage, AK, formerly of East Dubuque, IL, passed away, on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Hope Cottages, in Anchorage.
Funeral Services will be at 10 A/M, on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at the Wesley United Methodist Church, in East Dubuque, with Pastor Sharon Treloar officating. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4 P/M to 6 P/M, on Friday, March 11, 2016, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, and after 9 A/M, on Saturday, at the Wesley United Methodist Church.
Pam was born on August 4, 1957, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Jefferson "Sleepy" and Wilma (Janzen) Sample.
Pam spread happiness to everyone she met. She enjoyed passing out the Sunday morning church bulletins, hugs, and a smile at the church. She loved music, singing, dancing, and most of all, eating out.
Pam enjoyed bowling, swimming, basketball, skiing, running, and participated in the Jo Daviess Special Olympics. Pam was formerly employed at the Jo Daviess Workshop, in Galena, IL, where she gave tours to visitors, helping and encouraging others and being a leader. She also worked at the Gifted Drummer Gift Shop, in Galena. She made placemats on a huge weaving loom and loved to assist the customers.
In Anchorage, she attended the Hope Discover Center, where she enjoyed all sorts of activities and socializing. Pam loved to sit in the bosses chair and be "the Boss".
Surviving are her siblings, Fred (Sherry Hess) Sample, of Potosi, WI, Emery "Rocky" (Leanne) Sample, of Sycamore, IL, Renee (Tony) Wilson, of Anchorage, AK, Cheryl Sample, of Cuba City, WI, and Jefferson Mark Sample, of San Diego, CA; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and her aunt, Byrl Nestaby, of Dubuque, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sleepy and Wilma Sample; two (2) nephews, Jeff Sample and Shawn Albert Alvarez; her grandparents, Joseph & Oliie Sample and Clyde & Mildred Janzen.
