Muriel D. "Babe" Bahr, 87, of rural Shullsburg, WI, passed away on Sunday afternoon, December 10, 2017, at home.
Funeral Services will be at 10 A/M, on Friday, December 15, 2017, at the New Diggings Primitive Methodist Church, with Rev. Bill Vasey officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, in Galena, IL.
Visitation will be from 4 P/M to 7 P/M, on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, in Scales Mound, IL, and after 9 A/M, on Friday, at the church until time of service.
Babe was born on July 11, 1930, near Galena, IL, the daughter of William and Edna (Bainbridge) Dayton. She attended Galena High School and on July 27, 1948, she was united in marriage to Dale C. Bahr, in Galena. He preceded her in death on June 23, 2007.
Babe loved cooking, feeding and sharing with others, gardening, working with crafts, collecting bells, but will be remembered by family and friends for her pie making expertise. She dedicated her life to helping her family.
Surviving are two (2) children, Darlene (Francis) Fishler, of East Dubuque, IL, and Dennis D. Bahr, of Shullsburg, WI; two (2) grandchildren, Kristine Fishler and Jennifer (Michael) Onken, both of East Dubuque, IL; two (2) great-grandchildren, Mikayla and Ryan Onken; two (2) sisters, Ruth Bein, of Highland, IN, and Joyce McClain, of Dubuque, IA; nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Marian Dayton, of Scales Mound, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale; and two (2) brothers, William Dayton, Jr, and Robert Dayton.
Babe's family wishes to "thank" aunts, Joyce and Marian, for all their visits, her caretakers, Patty and Linda, and to St. Croix Hospice, of Platteville, for the wonderful care given to their Mother.
