Mary L. Muehleip-Kmucha, 74, of Galena, IL, passed away, on Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Bell Tower Retirement Community, in East Dubuque, IL.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 A/M, on Friday, May 6, 2016, at the Galena United Methodist Church, in Galena, with Rev. Patricia Allen Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, in Galena.

Visitation will be from 4 P/M to 7 P/M, on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, in Galena.

Mary was born on February 22, 1942, in Cuba City, WI, the daughter of Henry P. and Mabel M. (Simmons) Lehrman. She was a graduate of Galena High School and Capri Cosmetology in Dubuque, IA. Mary was united in marriage to Darrell "Doc" Muehleip, on June 17, 1961, in Galena. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2001. She later married Thomas Kmucha.

Mary was a member of the United Methodist Church and volunteered for many events. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending many school functions. She enjoyed gardening, feeding the deer and taking care of others. Mary owned and operated the Headquarters Beauty Salon, in Galena, until her retirement.

Surviving are her husband, Thomas Kmucha, of Galena, IL; her two (2) sons, Troy (Tonda) Muehleip and Damon (Jill) Muehleip, both of Galena, IL; her five (5) grandchildren, Tiffany, Jordan, Mackenzie, Kaleb and Chloe Muehleip; a great-grandson, Ace Kane; her siblings, Nancy Westemeier, of Effingham, IL, and Bob (Phyllis) Lehrman, of Milwaukee, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mabel Lehrman; her husband, Darrell "Doc" Muehleip; and a daughter, Tracy Muehleip, in November, 1993.

A Mary L. Muehleip-Kmucha Memorial Fund has been established.

Mary's family wished to give "special thanks" to the staff and nurses from Hospice of Dubuque and the Bell Tower Retirement Community for the kind and compassionate care provided for Mary!
