Mary Alice Kritz, 64, of East Dubuque IL, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at home surrounded by her family.

Family and friends may call from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, where funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 25, 2025, with Rev. Dianne Grace officiating. Burial will follow in the East Dubuque Cemetery.

Mary was born on December 15, 1960, in Hazel Green WI, the daughter of George and Henrietta (Hoag) Shireman. She graduated from East Dubuque High School with the Class of 1979. On May 15, 1982, she was united in marriage to Eldie C. Kritz in Dubuque IA.

Together, Mary and Eldie owned and operated Eldie's Marine Inc., in East Dubuque, where the family will continue the legacy. The shop was truly Mary's happy place, where she poured her heart into both the work and the people. She had a gift for taking care of everyone, always making others feel valued and welcome.

Surviving are her husband, Eldie; two children, Justin Kritz (Alisha Siefker) and Kirsten (Jace) Blackburn, bonus daughters, Hannah and Ava Woller; her grandchildren, Alexis Kritz, Warren & Lydia Blackburn, and Lucas Fondell; her siblings, Amanda March, Ronnie (Donita) Shireman, Donnie (Mary Kay) Shireman, Sherry (Darrell) Kritz, Chris (Michael) Kipp, and Cindy (Robert) Selchert.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Shireman; her mother, Henrietta (Arthur) Kahelin; and siblings, JoAnn Lutes, George Shireman, Jerry Shireman; and Brother-in-law, Harold March.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of Dubuque, especially Nurses Jessica and Melanie, for the care provided to the Kritz family's wife and mother.
