Mark A. Meyer, 54, of East Dubuque, IL, passed away at 5:37 A/M, on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center, in Dubuque, IA, following a sudden illness, with his family by his side.
Graveside services will be at 2 P/M, on Friday, September 8, 2017, at the East Dubuque Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 A/M to 1:45 P/M, on Friday, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque.
Mark was born on June 16, 1963, at West Union, IA, the son of Lewis J. and Elaine (Ruroden) Meyer. He was united in marriage to Brenda Quario on August 23, 1986, in Oelwein, IA.
Mark was employed by Design Build Structures, as a welder, in Peosta, IA. He loved horses, was a great story teller, and enjoyed joking with others. He was truly one of a kind, when he spoke everyone laughted whether it was true or not. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda; children, Nicole Rovang, Jeremy Quario, Codey Meyer and Alysha (Tyler) Culbertson; twelve (12) grandchildren, Aubree, Gracie, Trystn, Jemma, Presley, Norah, Talyn, Jorja, Knox, Lincoln, Riya and Ryker; his siblings, Lisa (Jeff Howard) Gerleman, of Clermont, IA and Lewis (Lori) Meyer, Jr., of Kansas City, MO; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Elaine; his father-in-law, Mike Quario; and uncle, Sonny Ruroden.
A Mark A. Meyer Memorial Fund has been established.
Brenda and family would like to give "special thanks" to Mary and Eldie Kritz, Janine from Mercy ER, the nurses and staff from Mercy ICU, especially his night nurse, Patty, friends Austin and Colton, and members of the East Dubuque and Menominee-Dunleith Fire Department for their quick response and compassion!
