Obituary

Marilyn L. Northrup, 62, of Galena, IL, passed away at 1:30 P/M, Thursday, August 15, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, IA, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 A/M, Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, Galena, with Rev. Jim McCrea officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, rural Galena.

Friends may call from 4 P/M to 7 P/M, Monday, August 19, 2013, and after 9 A/M, Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, Galena.

Marilyn was born on March 22, 1951, at Quincy, IL, the daughter of Jabez Wear and Evelyn Fisher. She was united in marriage to Clifford R. Northrup on June 29, 1968 at Lima, Illinois.

She was previously employed at Honeywell and Chestnut Mountain Lodge, both in Galena.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Marily was an avid seamstress, enjoyed cooking, camping, and bird watching. She especially loved spoiling her grandchildren, loved music, and playing canasta.

Surviving are her husband, Clifford; three children, Cindy (Richard) Leppert, of Bernard, IA, Patricia (Erich) Rohde, of Durand, IL,and William (Jolene) Northrup, of Galena, IL; seven grandchildren, Richard Leppert, Jr. (special friend, Haley M.), Jessica Leppert (special friend, Levi N.), Sophie, Emma, and Alivia Northrup, and Katlyn and Gavin Rohde; her siblings, her twin, Caroly (Dennis) Loos, Ray (Carline) Wear, Robert Wear and Naomi Ellis, all of Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandmother, Gladys Sidwell; and a sister, Rosemary Osmeyer.
