Obituary

Margaret M. (Runde) Leibfried, 88, of rural Hazel Green, WI, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 4, 2017, at home.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, at Sinsinawa, WI, with Fr. Ken Frisch officiating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 P/M to 7 P/M, on Friday, April 7, 2017, and from 9 A/M to 9:45 A/M, on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, where the parish scripture service will be at 3:30 P/M, on Friday

Margaret was born on November 27, 1928, in Jamestown Township, of Grant County, WI, the daughter of Arnold and Evelyn (Wiegman) Runde.  She was united in marriage to Bernard C. "Tiny" Leibfried, on October 10, 1953, at St. Joseph's Church, at Sinsinawa.  He preceded her in death on February 29, 2004.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish and its Council of Catholic Women, and American Legion Post #104 Auxiliary, of Cuba City.  She and Tiny formerly farmed prior to their retirement.  Margaret was an excellent seamstress and cook.  She loved playing cards and bingo and was formerly employed in the Cafeteria of St. Joseph's School.

Surviving are seven (7) children, Steven (Roxann) Leibfried, Ken (Lois) Leibfried, Peggy (Alex) Rutherford, and Francis (Kimberly) Leibfried, all of Cuba City, WI, Charles (Kelly) Leibfried, of Ft. Atkinson, WI, Daniel Leibfried, of Hazel Green, WI, and Mary Reeves, of Dubuque, IA; eleven (11) grandchildren; five (5) step-grandchildren; and thirteen (13) great-grandchildren; two (2) sisters, Ruth Sjobakken and Jean VanWagonen; and a brother, Francis Runde.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Evelyn; her husband, Bernard; three (3) brothers and two (2) sisters.

In lieu of flowers, a Margaret M. Leibfried Memorial Fund has been established.

The family wishes to "thank" Grant County Hospice, especially Tracy, and her granddaughter, Jenny, for the special care provided to Margaret.
