Margaret L."Rusty" Hesselbacher, 86, of Scales Mound, IL, passed away at 1:10 A/M, Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Midwest Medical Center, Galena, IL.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, in Scales Mound, with Fr. Max Lasrado officiating. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 P/M to 8 P/M, Tuesday, January 7th, at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, Scales Mound, where the parish prayer service will be at 1:45 P/M. Friends may also call from 9:30 A/M to 10:15 A/M, on Wednesday, January 8th, at the church.

Rusty was born on June 2, 1927, in Guilford Township, the daughter of Leo and Shirley (Trevarthan) Werner. She was a graduate of Scales Mound High School. She married Eldon E. Hesselbacher on July 20, 1948 at Holy Trinity Church. He preceded her in death on October 24, 1990.

Rusty was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and its Altar & Rosary Society. She drove school bus for the Scales Mound School District for 17 years. She was will known for her baking, especially her Rusty's cookies.

Surviving are her three children, David (Tammy) Hesselbacher, Sandy (Ken) Frank, and John (Karen) Hesselbacher, all of Scales Mound, IL; 12 Grandchildren, Greg, Amber, Bret and Michael (Brooke) Hesselbacher, Jim (Jill) Frank, Brian Frank, Kimberly (Nishi) Vakharia, Julie (Jeremy) Werner, Jennifer Frank, Nathan, Sarah and Jacob Hesselbach; 10 Great-Grandchildren; 3 sisters, Jane Strampe, of Stockton, IL, Mary Ann Stadel, of Elizabeth, IL, and Nancy (Dwayne) Cole, of Grand Rapids, MI; a sister-in-law, Sarah Werner, of Scales Mound, IL.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Shirley; a sister, Betty Davis; and a brother, Jim Werner.
