Louie was born on July 15, 1938, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Julius and Gertrude (Gross) Miller. He was united in marriage to Patricia "Pat" Story, on April 10, 1963, in Chicago, IL.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Louis owned the Cabaret in East Dubuque, and bartended at many establishments in the area over the years. He also owned the 2nd Hand Rose store for (30) years, which he just recently closed.
Everybody knew Louie and his convertible. He had so many friends, and everyone who knew him loved him. You could always count on a smile at the Three (3) Mile House, where he spent time with his closet friends.
He lost the love of his life on January 8, 2008, after forty-five (45) years of marriage. He enjoyed watching sports and daily lunch at Mario's. He loved going to Mexico and Mississippi with Pat! Millerfest at Mara's with the entire family was the highlight of his summer and he absolutely loved Christmas Eve at the Midway with the traditional "leg lamp" in his room's window.
Surviving are his children, Mark Miller, of Dubuque, IA, and his children, Ryan, Marisa, Lacey, Sarina and Angelina, Mike Miller, of Dubuque, IA, Molly Miller, of East Dubuque, IL, and children, Britini (Omar) Issac and Josh, Mara (Tom) Garner, of Dubuque, IA, and their children, Mykenna, Jaidyn and Layne; twelve (12) great-grandchildren, Payton, Ayden, Gavyn, Kinsley, Alivia, Bianca, Gracie, Jack, Abraham, Anaya, Avanni, and Omar; his siblings, Izzy Miller, Roger (Pat) Gross, Donnie Gross, Janet Brehm; and brother-in-law, Michael (Lynn) Story.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Gertrude; his wife, Pat; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roger and Mollie Story.
In lieu of flowers, a Louie Miller Memorial Fund has been established.
