Obituary
Lorraine (Glasgow) Gaude', 89, of Hawkeye Care Center, Asbury, IA, formerly of North Tustin, CA, and of Scales Mound, IL, passed away November 5, 2018, at Hawkeye Care Center.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A/M, on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at the Methodist Church, in Scales Mound, with Pastor Loren Hirschy and Pastor Libby Rutherford officiating. Burial will be at the Scales Mound Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 9:00 A/M, on Saturday, December 8th, at the church.
Lorraine was born March 12, 1929, in Warren, IL, the daughter of Foster D. and Alberta (Cook) Glasgow. She married William Gaude' on May 28, 1954, at the Way Fares' Chapel (The Glass Chapel) in Portuguese Bend, CA.
She graduated from the Scales Mound High School in 1947 and attended the University of California-Irvine.
Surviving are her (3) sons, Michael (Jackelin) of Nicaragua, David, of Dubuque, IA, and Gordon, of Portland, OR; (3) grandchildren, Ivy (Nicholas) Prater, Samuel and William; brother, Gordon Glasgow, of Scales Mound, IL; sister-in-law, Verna Glasgow, of Scales Mound, IL; brother-in-law, Francis Gaude, of CA; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Ann (Louis) Ross, of LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; (2) brothers, Foster and Meredith Glasgow; special sister-in-law, Bev Glasgow; niece, Deborah (Glasgow) Redfearn; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Gaude'; and great-great-nephew, Grayson Miller.
Lorraine will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a shining light of the Lord's love and a tender caregiver for the outdoor flowers at Hawkeye Care Center. Don, Honey (Diana), and Dr. Michael Bagby will miss their prayer warrior, but as she would always tell them, "May the joy of the Lord be your strength."
The family would like to "thank" Dr. Brian Sullivan and Loralle Reinicke, Dr. Berger and the OB/Gyn Department. They extend their heartfelt thanks to Hawkeye Care Center, Tammy for holding her hand, Max, Dani, the entire staff for loving her like family, and Lilah, for her cheeful visits!
