Lora M. (Marty) McGovern, 42, of Dubuque, IA, formerly of Stockton, IL, and rural Hazel Green, WI, passed away, suddenly, on Monday, August 27, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center, in Dubuque.

Visitation will be from 12 Noon - 4 P/M, on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at the Miller Funeral Home, in East Dubuque, where there will be a time of sharing at 3:30 P/M.  Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.

Lora was born on August 21, 1976, in Dubuque, the daughter of Patric and Lynne (Peacock) Marty.  She was a 1994 graduate of Southwestern High School in Hazel Green.  On November 5, 1999, she was united in marriage to Andrew J. McGovern, in Elizabeth, IL.

She loved flowers, gardening, yoga and her cats.  But most of all she was especially proud of her children.  Lora was known to be "free spirited".

Surviving are her husband, Andrew J. McGovern, of Stockton, IL; their five (5) children, Patric McGovern, Vera McGovern, Drew McGovern, and twins, Alice and Stella McGovern; her parents, Patric and Lynne Marty; siblings, John Marty, of Hazel Green, WI, Tom (Kim) Marty, of Prescott, AZ, Shirley (Lee) Klosterman, of Rewey, WI, Nevada Marty, of Hazel Green, WI, Beth Marty, of Cincinnati, OH, Micky Marty, James Marty, and Dorothy Marty, all of Hazel Green, WI, and Ted (Robyn) Oberhauser, of LaPorte City, IA; her grandmother, Shirley Peacock, of Dubuque, IA; her aunt, Diana Peacock; uncles, James Peacock, Jr. and Michael (Kelly) Peacock; plus numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, James Peacock, Sr; and paternal grandparents, Mickey and Dorothy (Keller) Marty.

A Lora M. McGovern Memorial Fund has been established.
