Mrs. LaVerne (Laura M. Krug) Grebner, 95, of rural Scales Mound, IL, passed away Saturday afternoon, July 29, 2017, at home.

Funeral Services will be at 2 P/M, on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, in Schapville, IL, with Rev. Mark Oehlert officiating. Burial will be in Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:30 P/M to 7:30 P/M, on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, and from 1 P/M to 1:45 P/M, on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, in Schapville, IL.

Laura was born on March 15, 1922, in Guilford Township, of Jo Daviess County, IL, the daughter of John and Christena (Reusch) Krug.  She was united in marriage to LaVerne Grebner on April 9, 1944, at St. John's Lutheran Church - Guilford Township.

Laura was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, its Ladies Aid Society and served as Church Treasurer for over 20 years. She loved quilting, sewing, playing cards, dancing and was a member of the Jo Daviess County Home Extension, but most importantly, she loved her family.

Surviving are her husband, LaVerne; her daughters, Rev. Christine (Daryl) Stienstra, of Dixon, IL, and Gail (Gary) Cording, of Dubuque, IA; three (3) grandchildren, Tammy (John) Rabe, Jody (Eric) Miles, and Marcy (Chuck) Fritter; and three (3) great-grandchildren, Bryce and Audra Miles, and Nick Rabe.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Elmer and Oscar Krug, Viola Schaible and Leona Hesselbacher.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred for Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, at Schapville.

The Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, of Scales Mound, is in charge of arrangements.
