Kimberly A. (Klaas) Muntz, 47, of East Dubuque, IL, passed away at 9:15 A/M, Thursday, January 30, 2014, at the Galena-Stauss Senior Care Community.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A/M, Monday, February 3, 2014, at St. Mary's Church, East Dubuque, with Fr. Francis Steffen officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 P/M to 6 P/M, Sunday, February 2nd, at the Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, where the scripture prayer service will be said at 12:45 P/M. Friends may also call from 9:30 A/M to 10:15 A/M, on Monday, at the St. Mary's Church.
Kim was born on April 23, 1966, in Hazel Green, WI, the daughter of Todd B. and Karen A. (Roth) Klaas. She was a 1984 graduate of East Dubuque High School. Kim was formerly employed at Thermo-Fisher, in Dubuque, and lastly at Hirschbach Trucking Company in East Dubuque.
She enjoyed reading, spending time with family and friends, and country line dancing.
Surviving is a son, Alex Muntz; her mother, Karen Roth; two brothers, Kenny and Kevin Klaas, all of East Dubuque, IL; her special significant friend, Dan Irwin, of Stockton, IL; her grandparents, Dorrance & Edna (Metzger) Roth, of East Dubuque, IL; her aunt and uncle, Connise (Clarence) Weber, of Hazel Green, WI; nieces and nephews; several cousins; and special friends, Dee & Kevin Thomas, Shelley Koeller, and Colleen & Jeannie.
A Kimberly A. Muntz Memorial Fund has been established.
Kim's family wishes to give "special thanks" for the care provided to her at the University of Iowa Cancer Center, the staff at the Galena-Stauss Senior Care Community, especially Alice, and to the staff of Hospice of Dubuque, especially Megan, for the wonderful care given to Kim.
